Intro Generate Normal Map w Sculpt Tools 

ok ... well this an introduction Generate Normal Map to autodesk maya modeling character tutorial ... which is crucial for image base detail like Displacement map or Bump Map ... you hv to combine or use the them both (Displace n Normal or Bump)

you may combine use of sculpt Stamp or Stencil, both will be use more texture brush in advance, somehow texture brush help a lots.

in case that somehow you may found unsmooth surface after sent back to Maya from Mudbox, just add 1 level more in Maya to smooth up a bit ...




after sculpt in Mudbox with vector displacement ...
if your UV good, everything on sculpt session was totally fine




sent the mesh poly 2 level SubDivision below ...
but add 1 level up in Maya ... all mesh poly was fine ...




in Hypergraph ... add two node, one fpr Normal Map, and the other one for Displacement Map ... as you can see, the right side for viewport preview, and the left side for Maya render preview
